On Saturday, the NASCAR Xfinity drivers were the first ones to brave the weather at the Charlotte Roval. As it turned out, the playoff Xfinity race provided plenty of chaotic moments. In the end, AJ Allmendinger triumphed ahead of Noah Gragson and Daniel Hemric. Next up is the NASCAR Cup Series race at the same track.
Hemric spoke to Fox NASCAR after the race and delivered some solid advice for the Cup drivers. He said, “What chaos it is! Definitely added a different element of discipline that I’ve never experienced since I’ve been in a race car. Truly incredible, how precise you got to be with yourself, that’s all I can say.”
He further advised the drivers that they should stay clean throughout the race. At the same time, they should avoid getting caught up in somebody else’s wreck. Hemric noted that there were occasions where he could not see out of the window or his opponents bearing down on him.

He admitted that there was a lot happening during the race and he never faced such a situation. He joked, “I can promise you one thing. I’m going to have a cold one tomorrow, sit back and watch this, it’s going to be fun.”
The track was already soaked in the buildup to the race. However, the worst was yet to come, as the heavens opened minutes after the race began. From there, it was simply pandemonium, as drivers began skidding all over the track and into walls. To make matters even more complicated, a few of them had issues getting their windshield wipers to work.

The conditions were so poor that NASCAR was forced to stop the race for nearly 40 minutes. From there, the authorities used track dryers to try and sweep away the standing water from the surface. The good news was that the tactic worked and helped improve the conditions. Unfortunately, a bout of heavy rain later simply soaked the track again and undid all that hard work.
Now, the remaining eight drivers will be eager to look forward to the next round of the playoffs. All that begins at the Kansas Speedway, followed by Martinsville and Texas.
