Danica Patrick is back with GoDaddy again! No, it’s not what you think. She isn’t going to get in a race car—she was just interviewing her former sponsor Bob Parsons. Patrick and Parsons and their powerful partnership paved the way for GoDaddy’s prosperity back in the day when Danica used to wheel race cars.

GoDaddy’s current net worth is $19.75 billion, showing a significant increase from last year. The projected rate is 76.15% in one year! You’d think that the company’s success would be because of its relentless pursuit of profit, the spreadsheets, and the boardroom meetings, but the reality is quite different. Bob Parsons revealed that it’s not just about the profit. He said, “If your reason is to make money, you’re dead in the water.”

So how did he manage to reach success with that mantra? Well, he has a different strategy that paints a complex picture, filled with glitz and groundbreaking marketing! Plus, that even reveals the secret behind the lavish parties that GoDaddy is known to throw.

Bob Parsons warns: business school teachings could lead to financial ruin

In a time when everyone wants to be their own boss, getting lost in a sea of to-dos and the best profit mantra can be overwhelming. However, receiving guidance from someone who has built a company as substantial as GoDaddy can make all the difference in standing out. And according to Bob Parsons, building a successful business isn’t what’s found in traditional business school teachings. In his view, with what they teach in business school, one is bound to end up broke!

In his sit-down interview with Patrick, he mentioned that thinking about just profit isn’t going to take the business anywhere. According to him, one should have a purpose-driven approach. He said, “If you’re reason is to make a difference, you have an excellent chance to be successful.” He emphasized how “enthusiasm” is the key to success. He said, “You have to be over concerned about your employees and them being very excited and enthusiastic about whatever it is you’re doing. That’s paramount.” This enthusiasm, he expressed, is contagious and creates a ripple effect on the clients and everyone around, and that helps the company grow. This philosophy is called “tipping” by him and Danica Patrick said, “Is that why the GoDaddy holiday parties were so cool?” Probably so! As Parsons too agreed.

GoDaddy is known to throw lavish parties. These parties are not just for the celebrities involved, but for the employees too. This brings that enthusiasm that Parsons is talking about within the employees, driving them to do better.

Danica Patrick and GoDaddy’s relationship has been iconic; she gained a lot from them. It is evident that she has learned a lot from her boss, not only in terms of money but also in the way she conducts her business affairs.
