Ever since her retirement from the sport, there has hardly been a venture that Danica Patrick has not taken up. She is a broadcaster, a winemaker, a podcaster, a book writer and, if all that was not enough, she is also a philanthropist. And it was one of her recent philanthropic undertakings ahead of which she really managed to catch the attention of her fans with her ‘Hot Date’.

Danica Patrick is one of the most successful female motorsports athletes of all time. She made history in 2008 when she won the Indy Japan 300. To this day, she is the sole female winner of an IndyCar race. Patrick had a long stint in the NASCAR Cup Series as well. Currently, she is a successful entrepreneur and podcast host.

Danica Patrick is quite active on social media, keeping her fans in the loop about some aspects of her life. She recently shared a few pictures on her Instagram stories attending Aaron Sanchez’s Impact fund.

The 41-year-old donned a red off-shoulder dress to the event where she made her intentions quite clear. “On a Sunday night. To drink some more @somniumwine,” she wrote in one of her pictures. Somnium Wine is one of Danica Patrick’s successful business ventures. As is evident by the name, it is a wine company with a vast array of options in both red and white.

Danica Patrick can often be seen uploading photos and videos on her Instagram handle promoting her beverage brand. Her other business is an athleisure company called Warrior by Danica Patrick. Much like Somniunm, Warrior has also been doing quite well. It is a testament to the former race car driver’s sharp business mind.

But Somnium Wines was not the only entity Danica Patrick flaunted on her Instagram stories. In the next story, she can be seen with a woman, presumably a close friend of hers, named Stephanie Renneckar Halvorson according to her Instagram handle. In the picture, Patrick shared with Stephanie, the former race car driver wrote “My hot daaaate!”

Danica Patrick looks back at her time in IndyCar quite fondly. She did something unprecedented at the time when she became the first woman to win an Indy race in Japan. But at Indianapolis in 2005, she became the first female driver to lead the Indy500. However, instead of going for the win, she decided to play it safe so that she could finish the race.

Danica Patrick expressed her regret as she discussed not going for the win as her fuel situation was not great at the time. During an interview with Graham Bensinger, the former race car driver admitted that it would have been a lot cooler had she run out of fuel while leading a race instead of playing it safe.

“Of course, this is not what I knew then, which is why I didn’t include it in the decision. But we didn’t have the right systems in place to know exactly how much fuel was left. So I ended with enough for two and a half more laps. So another… That was just like the real information on how I could have, you know, made it,” Patrick said.
