Every racecar driver has had a lightbulb moment where they thought to themselves, ‘I could do that’. Bonnie-Jill Laflin recently interviewed the former IndyCar and NASCAR driver for her book “In A League Of Her Own”. And in the conversation, Patrick revealed the moment she knew she wanted to race cars for a living. She said, “I am at age 8-12 and we’re doing a broadcast I grabbed some snacks out of my bag. I was eating Apple Chips as the green flag is dropping and cars are accelerating at 230 miles per hour.”
But that surely didn’t scare her. In fact, it did quite the opposite, “And even at that moment, I went like- ‘crazy’. I totally could accept the challenge and the danger. And I said it so many times- ‘I could do that’.”
A young Danica decided she wants to be a racecar driver. It’s crazy to think. But the best part is the immense support she got from her fans in the comments.
Fans cheer on Danica Patrick as they can’t wait to read more about her
It’s no surprise Danica is one of the most popular figures in motorsports. Even though she stopped racing in 2018, her fan following continues to grow due to her off-the-track persona.
