The award he is nominated for is the Best Driver award, and to show her support for the Hendrick Motorsports driver, even former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick retweeted NASCAR’s post regarding the same.

The 29-year-old stormed to win the championship last year with a staggering 10 wins, 20 top-five spots, and 26 top-10s. He also led 2,581 laps in his Hendrick Motorsports number 5 car. Larson picked up 3 back to back wins in 2021, including a win at the “Crown Jewel” event, Coca-Cola 600.

This year, however, Kyle has managed to rake in only one win, arguably owing to problems with the Next-Gen cars. Regardless, he ended up with the nomination for his outstanding performance throughout 2021. If Kyle Larson wins the vote for the best driver award, he could become the 19th NASCAR driver to win this prestigious award.
