Is Dale Jr.'s humor the secret sauce behind Dirty Mo Media's massive success?

Launched by the NASCAR legend in 2013, ‘The Dale Jr. Download’ has evolved from a simple audio podcast into a full-blown multimedia network, complete with multiple different shows and podcasts. Over the years, the guest list has included everyone from NASCAR executives to racing legends and even WWE superstars like Stone Cold Steve Austin. But one thing never changes: Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s signature mix of heartfelt stories and his sharp sense of humor.

Armed with these abilities, Dale Jr. hasn’t just won races; he knows how to win hearts—and laughs—online. Mike Davis, who was formerly Dale Jr’s racing team, JR Motorsport’s Director of Communications, has been a central figure in the podcast’s success. He was co-hosting alongside Dale Jr. until 2023 and often took on the role of Earnhardt’s comedic sparring partner.

It all started when NASCAR analyst and legend Kenny Wallace took to Instagram to give a big shoutout to Mike Davis. Wallace was congratulating him on a huge milestone for Kenny Conversation—a series under Wallace’s YouTube channel. The episode featuring Davis had reached 100,000 views, a pretty solid number by any measure.

“Congratulations @mike_davis88 at @dirtymomedia on reaching 100 THOUSAND views 🏁,” Wallace proudly posted.

But, of course, Dale Jr. couldn’t resist stirring the pot just a little. “If only he had better lighting, camera, and microphone… it would have been 200k… if only there was any of that stuff nearby. 🤪” Dale Jr. joked in the comments. The sarcasm dripped in the most charming way: here’s Davis, the director of a top-tier media brand, and Dale is implying he might’ve dropped the ball on production quality. Classic.

Even when Davis stepped back from regular co-hosting duties in late 2023, he remained a significant presence, making moments like this one even more amusing for fans who know their dynamic.
