It seems Denny Hamlin has had enough of the constant criticism! The Richmond Raceway might have gifted him his 53rd win in the NASCAR Cup Series, but what it also gave the driver was a lot of negative attention as the community refuses to forget his win. However, according to the man in question, the #11, what’s done is done. The driver recently even took to social media to vent his frustration while asking the community to “GET OVER IT!” However, his request fell on deaf ears as he managed to grab the headlines again due to his online spat with Speedway Motorsports CEO Marcus Smith.
At last, who came to Denny Hamlin’s rescue was NASCAR’s favorite child, Dale Earnhardt Jr, who made a rather unusual attempt to get the limelight off of his friend.

In a rare instance, Denny Hamlin is actually hating the attention
While Denny Hamlin usually faces his critics head-on, this time he’s tired, which he expressed earlier this week. Commenting about the excessive harping regarding the Richmond debacle, he tweeted: “I sure wish someone would come out with a new paint scheme or something. Ain’t y’all tired of talking about the same thing for 48 hours now? Our team won the race because of the pit crew. Not the restart. Y’all just sour. GET OVER IT!”
However, the fresh emergence of another spicy topic has gotten Hamlin fed up over his trending name. He tweeted yet again: “Again I ask, could someone come out with a paint scheme or something. 🫠” And like the good friend that Dale Earnhardt Jr is, he came all guns blazing, trying to distract the unwanted online attention. “Tim Dugger released a damn good song today,” Junior wrote in repky to Hamlin’s tweet. Denny Hamlin must have heaved a sigh of relief when he saw Dale Jr’s tweet, instantly reposting it on his feed.

And even more hilarity ensued when Tim Dugger himself replied with a GIF reading: “It ain’t much, but it’s honest work.”

Although Dale Jr is helping out Hamlin, he is on very good terms with the official Hamlin got into an online brawl with. Marcus Smith and Dale Jr worked together to restore the North Wilkesboro Speedway and were also awarded for it.

The tweet that triggered a battle between Hamlin and Smith involved a mention of North Wilkesboro Speedway. Denny Hamlin forecasted a fate for this track similar to Sonoma. Yet Marcus Smith and Dale Earnhardt Jr had clocked in hard work for the track’s reopening in 2022.

Dale Jr initiated things, organizing a cleanup of the race track to allow iRacing to scan the track in 2019. Terri Parsons and Steven Wilsons worked in the background as well. Then Marcus took the executive decision to move the All-Star Race from an SMI track to NWS. All four won the National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) Pocono Spirit Award for 2023.

Yet it is evident that Dale Jr is on good terms with both sparring entities, hence his attempt to rescue Denny Hamlin. While Junior refuses to choose sides, whose argument, do you think, makes more sense? Let us know in the comments below!
