Dale Jr. confesses his saving grace
Having met back in 2009, the Earnhardt couple married in 2016. In 2025, Dale Jr. and Amy Reimann share two beautiful daughters, Isla Rose and Nicole Lorraine. Despite happiness reeking from this picture-perfect Earnhardt family, there have been hurdles. For instance, the two had a disagreement over Dale Jr.’s racing career in 2016 after the latter faced severe health problems. Then, on a lighter note, Amy confessed her dislike for road trips. The couple has sought relationship therapy to wade through these differences before. However, an unlikely vent for their troubles was Dale Jr.’s duty off the racetrack.
Dale Jr. and Amy recently launched ‘Bless Your Hardt’, a brand-new Dirty Mo Media podcast. It delves into the “chaos, success, failure, and real-life issues” in the Earnhardt family. In its very first episode, Amy observed a flaw in her husband: “I feel like you really like to argue…You like to clown debate and poke at everyone around you.” Dale Jr. yielded, validating this claim. “I like to be a smarta– and I like to joke.” Then the 26-time Cup Race winner stressed how just being on the show helps. “I think the podcast might actually hold us accountable to, ‘Hey look, I know we’re not getting along today or we disagreed about something yesterday. But we can’t not do the show.'” Amy also agreed on a mutual upliftment. “Maybe it will make us both grow up a little bit.”

Then, Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed the effective solution to his married life conflicts. “If we do have a disagreement, right… and it’s Thursday morning, we gotta go sit down and do a show.” Amy chimed in: “Maybe we’ll just hash it out right here.” Then the couple almost rhymed together as Dale Jr. and Amy said, “So maybe the podcast…(Amy: is therapeutic) is good.”

Acknowledging his wife’s wishes
The mark of a healthy relationship is a two-way communication. Mutual agreement is paramount when it comes to solving difficult disagreements. As we all know, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is an icon of NASCAR, and racing is his passion. However, the two-time Daytona 500 winner encountered a health mishap in 2016. He missed the second half of that Cup Series season because of severe concussion symptoms. According to reports, Dale Jr. and his wife Amy had argued over whether he should compete in the Clash race. Dale Jr. himself claimed after 2017 that he does not have “any desire to return” to the racetrack. So eventually, the popular driver yielded to his wife’s wish.
Dale Jr. retired at the end of 2017, and fans speculated over whether he would return as a guest at the 2018 Clash race. However, the driver gave free will to his wife to decide that matter, and Amy Earnhardt clarified that it was not a possibility. She said, “I’ve received many comments on Dale Jr. running the 2018 Clash, based on whether or not I give my blessing. Considering his struggles last fall with his injury, we are very blessed that he is now healthy, happy & able to enjoy his final season…and hopefully many years beyond racing. So my answer is simple. It’s not worth the risk of his health.”
