A few days earlier, beverage giant Anheuser-Busch announced an official sponsorship of Trackhouse Racing’s #1 driver, Ross Chastain from the 2024 season onwards. Having been a part of NASCAR for more than four decades, the 171-year-old Bavarian brewing can be safely called NASCAR’s official beer. Gearing up to depart from the Stewart-Haas Racing camp post Kevin Harvick’s forthcoming retirement, Busch Light’s move to Trackhouse Racing will see Ross Chastain’s stardom receive a fresh boost.
With these developments in mind, ‘Dale Jr Download’ podcast co-host, Mike Davis revealed his displeasure regarding the $110 billion worth brewing giants moving away from SHR.

Once sponsored by Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser brand, Dale Earnhardt Jr’s interest was piqued upon hearing the beverage giant’s move to the Trackhouse Racing camp. Although Ross Chastain is already an established star in NASCAR’s stable, Dale Jr and co-host Mike Davis feel Busch Light’s partnership with the Trackhouse Racing driver will propel Chastain’s stardom to the next level.
Speaking to Dale Jr, Mike Davis said, “The bush brand would be perfect I think, but like it has to all match up and everybody has to do their thing. I don’t know how many races there you know when it was a full-time sponsorship, when they did that like, because if that’s what it was, I mean like I don’t know, I think it has potential if he’s a beer drinker.”
Revealing how the partnership may provide the right ingredients to boost Chastain’s stardom, Junior said, “I would love for him or anybody when they get a big sponsorship like this for it to be the sponsor every single week. We’ll find out next year when we go to the racetracks where they’re going to have Bush on the car. But, I think this is sort of one of the final, if not the final boxes to check for Ross. For him, he now has all the ingredients to become one of, if not the biggest star in the sport.”
“Anheuser-Busch will open up opportunities for him that he’s not getting with anyone else, fact”, Davis said in agreement with Junior’s revelation.
Dale Jr further added, “So you know, there’s a nice blueprint for them to go by anyways, there is, on how to create a superstar, right?”
Expressing how he wasn’t happy with Anheuser-Busch’s departure from SHR, Davis said, “I know that this deal would have started well before Josh Berry’s announcement. I would have loved if they would have just hung out with SHR. I would’ve loved to see it, but that’s selfishly.”
“Josh drinks Bush! But I’m happy for Ross and happy for Justin Marks”, Junior said.
Struggling to perform at the beginning of the 2023 season, Ross Chastain has managed to turn his luck around, turning into a championship favorite.

The first half of the 2023 season was filled with controversies for Ross Chastain. Be it punching Noah Gragson or wrecking Kyle Larson multiple times, Chastain could always be found embroiled in controversy. Nicknamed ‘wrecking ball’ by Christopher Bell for his on-track actions, the Trackhouse Racing #1 driver failed to deliver results.
All would change when NASCAR rolled into Nashville. Running a clean race, Chastain went on to bag the Ally 400 title in dominating fashion. Slowly raking up points, the Watermelon Man climbed up on NASCAR’s championship standings, where he now sits at the 5th spot. Turning into a championship favorite, Ross Chastain also ranks 4th on NASCAR’s projected playoffs.
