Dale Jr. standing up for his female employee—Is this the leadership NASCAR needs more of?

Casey Boat, one of the hosts of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, found herself cornered with a barrage of questions from her colleagues. It all started with Brett Griffin trying to wind up Casey, suggesting she needed extra help as she navigated pregnancy. It wasn’t just that; even TJ Majors and Freddie Kraft got on her case.

While Casey did retaliate and try to move on from the discussion, the rest of the panel couldn’t help but burst into laughter. However, after the video clip of the incident made its way online, Dale Earnhardt Jr was quick to back his employee and gave the rest of the panel an earful in just three words, on X.

The personalities on the Door Bumper Clear podcast are some of the most outspoken and unapologetic in the NASCAR industry. Therefore, to keep them in check, Casey Boat serves the role of a mediator and does a good job. However, this time around, she found herself on the bitter end of the stick with the constant bantering. And that made Dale Jr believe that his employees “ARE jerks!”

“Let’s talk about your nanny for a minute. I just can’t believe that Casey works part-time and has a full-time nanny,” Griffin started the conversation. Casey certainly didn’t hold any punches with her response. “I don’t have a full-time nanny for the record. And you’re an a******.” She further explained her case.

So, for the record, a*******, I work a lot. My husband is gone [a lot of the time],” she retorted. Married to dirt track racing driver Chad Boat since 2019, the couple welcomed their first child Chloe in 2020. And now, they’re expecting a second child next month. They made the announcement on X, posting a picture with Chloe holding a book whose cover read, “How to be a big sister.” Casey Boat wrote, “Chloe’s getting promoted!! Baby Boat #2 coming this August❤️”.

Apart from being a dirt track driver, her husband is also the owner of Chad Boat Industries, a team that competes in the USAC National Midget Series and Powri National Midget League. On July 10, his driver in the USAC National Midget Series, Daison Pursley, won night number 2 of Mid America Week, making it two in a row. As a result, Chad Boat won his 38th race as a car owner in the series, making his 10th on the all-time list. His wife celebrated the achievement, writing, “Such an incredible accomplishment 🙌🏼 So proud of you!!”

What’s your perspective on:

Have an interesting take?

As she did that, she also had to defend herself on DBC. “I’ve cleaned out the garage; cleaned out all of our rooms. I’ve done all of it myself. Don’t be a jerk,” she told Griffin. TJ inquired, “Who watches the kids when you do [all these chores]… I’m sorry,” getting only halfway through the question before bursting into fits of laughter. Casey understood that this conversation was going overboard and decided to put an end to it. “I hate you … okay we’re gonna move on.” Of course, someone had to come out in support of Casey, and it was none other than Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Reacting to the clip shared online on X by Dirty Mo Media, Dale Jr wrote (presumably with a touch of humor), “Y’all ARE jerks! @CaseyBoat deserves better.” Well, fans also had their say on the incident, with many applauding the way Casey dealt with the misconduct swiftly and unapologetically. But it didn’t end there as Freddie further replied to Junior’s comment.

Freddie Kraft tried to put the villain hat on Casey, but fans were having none of it!

Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie, did try to defend himself. Replying to the JR Motorsports owner’s comment, he stated that Casey did justice on her part with her words, “Actually, she said a******… twice.” Once again, she had a befitting reply to this argument with her response, “Fact. I figured it was a classier word than anything else I was thinking of at the time.” The soon to be mother even took it a step further and replied to Dale Jr’s comment again, writing, “Ohh it’s fine. I mean if Brett thinks spotting trucks is beneath him, he has no idea what parenting is like!”

Even the fans sided with Casey on the topic, with some even asking Dale Jr to give her the raise for putting up with such behavior on the show. “You need to increase her pay for putting up with those boys.🤣🤣🏁.”

Another user, with a similar sentiment, chimed in, stating, “She deserves a raise. She has to take care of these children at work, too.” It would be quite a show to see if Dale Jr makes a cameo in DBC in the absence of Casey Boat, who is expected to take maternity leave. This is exactly the idea a fan proposed: “You should fill in for Casey a few times while she’s on maternity leave!!!”

Well, some even dragged NASCAR’s penalizing system into this debate. Pitching in with a sarcastic suggestion aimed at NASCAR, they wrote, “@MikeDavis88 Fine them like @NASCAR would. $50K for Actions Detrimental to podcasting.” Bubba Wallace himself was fined $50,000 for door-slamming Chicago Street Race winner Alex Bowman, so the irony of the comment is certainly not lost!

This is not the first time that Dale Earnhardt Jr has called out the bunch, though! Earlier this year, JR Motorsports’ Sam Mayer’s won over Ryan Sieg by a mind bending 0.02 seconds at Texas. However, the DBC trio was not impressed and opined how Sieg could’ve been more aggressive in his defenses, earning their boss’ wrath.

During a conversation on ‘The Dale Jr Download’ podcast, the veteran simply said, “It was entertaining but it wasn’t good? That’s an oxymoron, right? Which makes sense ’cause they’re a bunch of morons.”

But that’s what the DBC is known for, isn’t it? An unfiltered take on all things NASCAR? And if you ask Fred Griffin, this is what makes it so popular. “This show works because we’re allowed to be ourselves. We’re unfiltered personalities in the sport that have a perspective that’s not offered on any other platform as it pertains to NASCAR. Clearly, we’re not a bunch of polished media guys. We’re just a bunch of spotters with views of the racetrack, and we’re in a position via this platform to come in here and tell stories about it,” Griffin said in a conversation with the New York Times, back in 2o22.

Well, unlike controversial opinions on racing, some thoughts are best being kept to oneself. After the whole debacle with Casey Boat and Dale Earnhardt Jr, the DBC trio will certainly remember that. What do you think?
