In 2019, former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr, his wife Amy Earnhardt, and their daughter Isla were involved in a plane crash in Tennessee. Fortunately for the Earnhardts, all members escaped without any serious injuries.
However, the lasting effect of the crash has remained in their lives, especially in the mind of their young daughter.
This is something Amy Earnhardt recently revealed in an interview with People magazine. She described how it took her a year before she could get on a plane again.

As for her daughter, she described Isla Earnhardt has had some “residual effects,” that she still gets scared whenever they’re in a plane and it takes off.
“For a while, she would tremble and shake,” Amy Earnhardt said. “It was before she was talking, so we really couldn’t talk through it with her. That was hard.”
Dale Earnhardt Jr. had recently ruled out a comeback, “done taking risks,” he said

And as it turns out, he isn’t open, not even for a slight consideration. This is so because of two very clear reasons.

“I’m old,” he said.
Dale Jr added, “Take a guy like (Hendrick driver) William Byron, he’s young, he’s a risk-taker … I’m done taking risks. I got two little girls that I love being around, and I’ve put my wife through a lot.”

“I just don’t know, at 47, that I’d be willing to take the risks out on the racetrack.”
