What makes NASCAR great is its legacies. From Lee Petty to Adam Petty, Bill Elliott-Chase Elliott. Or probably the most famous NASCAR family – The Earnhardts. While Dale Earnhardt Jr. did justice to the name, fans must wonder who’s next. We are rooting for Isla and Nicole to become NASCAR superstars. But it’s still a lot of time for that! But meanwhile, who knows, Dale Jr. and Amy Earnhardt might have more expansion plans. And we might get a Dale Jr. Jr.! Jokes apart, we are on this subject because this recently seemed like a real possibility to many. However, Amy has made clarifications and rather strong ones.

What sparked the ‘3rd Earnhardt child ‘ rumor?

Neither Junior nor Amy have officially talked about a third child yet. However, Amy is highly active on social media, often posting photos of her kids. Clearly, she loves parenting. They also started ‘The Dale and Amy Earnhardt Fund,’ which supports families in the area of pediatric rehabilitation. And we know Amy Earnhardt is a strong advocate of motherhood. But she’s also a fairly young mother and tries to learn and seek knowledge about motherhood as much as possible.

This is probably why the confusion started. So, Amy Earnhardt recently posted an Instagram story. Where she had the cover photo of a book called ‘Magic Mama.’ It is authored by Mel Braun and talks about the author’s approach towards pregnancy and motherhood. What made fans assume that Amy was pregnant? The caption to the story!

It read, “Thank you for the book, Mel. Can’t wait to dive into it!” Fans assumed she was getting pregnancy tips. This probably led to her DMs being flooded with congratulatory messages. Finally, Amy had to publicly clarify that she wasn’t pregnant. In the next story, she had a screenshot of presumably a fan asking, “Is this an announcement?” Amy’s clarification? “Not in the slightest!”

And we get the exclamation mark at the end. If Dale Earnhardt Jr and Amy Earnhardt were having a baby, this is not how they would reveal it. After all, it would be massive news! We still remember how, for his first daughter’s announcement, he had posted a photo of tiny pink sneakers! So he’d look to up that one if they have a third. And trust us, the world would know.

But since we are on the subject, we don’t know if we are getting a Dale Jr Jr. But clearly, Jr. would love for his daughters to be connected to the racing world (no pressure, though).

What’s your perspective on:

Could Dale Jr.'s daughters be the next big thing in NASCAR, continuing the Earnhardt legacy?

Have an interesting take?

Junior is 50! By this age often drivers hang their helmets and enjoy retirement. But Jr. is still getting behind the wheel in his CARS Tour. In a recent interview by Athlon Sports, he was asked what still keeps him going. To which he said, “Well, there’s a lot of little reasons. I still love to drive. I want my girls to know what it was like for me to drive. I don’t want them to have to open a book when they’re 15 or 20 years old and (have) me explain it to them.”

He believes that if he remains connected to racing, his girls could look at it as a possible career in the future. “I also want them to know there are opportunities here if they ever decide they want to do this, too. You look at Lanie Buice; she is a really good racecar driver. And (my daughters) don’t have to be racecar drivers, but look at Kelley — there are a lot of jobs and opportunities (in racing) if they want it,” He added.

And Jr.’s emotions are understandable. Obviously, he would want to pass down the great legacy he got from his father. And to a father, their children loving what they love is always a dream come true. “I want them to know how much I love this. I don’t want them to just (re)watch old races, see a bunch of men, and think this isn’t a world for them, too.”

We have our fingers crossed that both Earnhardt daughters become successful drivers! What do you think? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
