Danica Patrick’s outspoken nature is no secret. Fans have always known Patrick to speak her mind. This time around, she’s celebrating a massive moment, sharing the spotlight with another well-known NASCAR celebrity, Amy Earnhardt.

Earlier this week, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) delivered some news. As it happened, they were issuing a ban on Red #3, a synthetic food dye. This particular food dye is said to give certain foods and drinks a bright red cherry color. According to their research, Red #3 is the culprit behind causing cancer in animals. So when the news broke, many celebrated, including Amy Earnhardt, wife of Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Danica Patrick.

In her Instagram story, Amy cheered, “Can I get an Amen!”. Meanwhile, Patrick’s Instagram story read, “Amen! How this got into our food in the first place, I’ll never understand.” With this, it means that many brands that use Red #3 will no longer be able to use them and have to find alternatives.

Both Danica Patrick and Amy Earnhardt are massive health buffs. Patrick has repeatedly spoken about how eating healthy is one of the most important factors of staying healthy. In an interview few years ago, Patrick said, “I want them to develop a good relationship with food and exercise to not be a reward or punishment but a way of life and something that makes you feel good and something that makes you a better you every single day.”

Amy Earnhardt isn’t far behind either. She recently advocated for a health supplement, one that went through rigorous lab testing. “In the last year, I have tried my hardest to focus on wellness and nutrition and AG1 is the one thing that I must have to start my day. It’s your one-stop shop for holistic, whole-body wellness. Ladies, this is not just for you; it’s for men as well. It’s truly for everyone.” It was one of the reasons she stood against Red No. 3.

As it turned out, Red No. 3 was approved for use in foods in 1907. According to reports, the food dye is manufactured from petroleum. During those early years, there had been some health concerns about Red No. 3. In a way, the FDA’s ban has been a long time coming. Back in the 1980s, scientists discovered that the additive was possibly carcinogenic. This was after they found that male rats who were subjected to high doses, developed tumors.

In light of the FDA’s decision, the Consumer Brands Association acknowledged that they would comply with the verdict. Interestingly, as many as 10 US states, including California already made moves to ban Red No. 3. Additionally, the substance has been banned or severely restricted in Australia, Japan, and countries in the European Union. The best part is that some U.S. food manufacturers have begun the process of removing artificial dyes from their products.

Regardless, it’s their stand against such practices that define these celebrities. For Amy Earnhardt, the journey of wellness and improvement has included bringing in a new side to Dale Jr.

Amy Earnhardt reveals the change she brought to Junior’s life

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Amy Earnhardt met back in 2009 when Junior hired her to work on the interiors of his house. As it happened, the two grew closer together until they eventually tied the knot years later. As it happened, when they met, Junior was going through a tough period in his life. He had just parted ways with Budweiser, left Dale Earnhardt Inc. after clashing with his stepmother Teresa, and was on his way to Hendrick Motorsports under the pressure of living up to his father’s legacy.

As Amy explained, she made a great impact in Junior’s life during this time. “Over the years, going through all the emotions with him and trying to figure out how to help him being strong, which was something that seemed to be easy, some people might call it being a hard a–. It seemed to be what he needed from me, so sometimes I was a little bit of both, I guess, but just being there and being strong for him was something that was easy for me to do.”

Now, the two work together on the Dale Jr. Download, their podcast, reminding fans of the incredible journey they’ve shared in the NASCAR world.
