Earlier, it was announced that Brandon Jones would jump ship from Joe Gibbs Racing to DJR Motorsports. Now, things have gotten even worse for the organization as JGR are set to lose Menards as a sponsor. The home improvement retail company is expected to follow Jones to the Dale Earnhardt Jr owned team in 2023. Once again, Menards will act as a primary sponsor for Jones’ #9 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

The brand has been linked with Jones all the way to his first Xfinity Series start in 2015. To make matters even better, their own relationship with Dale Earnhardt Jr goes back even further. All in all, it is a win-win situation all around. In fact, Earnhardt Jr. won three Xfinity races in Menards Chevrolet colors, once upon a time. This was back when he was part of the Chance2 Motorsports and Dale Earnhardt, Inc. programs in 2004 and 2006.
How did Dale Earnhardt Jr. react to the news of the reunion?
Earnhardt Jr. reacting to his new sponsor, said, “I’m happy for the chance to work with John (Menard) and Menards again. Menards sponsored one of the most dominant cars I ever drove in the Xfinity Series. I have some great memories of winning races together. John and his company are big supporters of racing and have been for many years. I’m glad to have them at JRM backing Brandon.”
Have some really good history with @Menards. Won races together in the DEI years. Excited to represent them again. Went to a store yesterday and didn’t want to leave. I also like neon colors. This all checks out. https://t.co/Ct6xqqr8Ls

Jones’ arrival was established back in September, joining Justin Allgaier, Josh Berry, and Sam Mayer. The five-time Xfinity Series race winner will take over the #9 Chevrolet from a Cup graduating Noah Gragson, in 2023. Brandon Jones admitted that it was a dream come true to race for JR Motorsports. He declared his intention to win races and championships with Menards continuing to be in his corner.

Menards has a long history with NASCAR, dating all the way back since 2003 as a Cup Series sponsor. Beyond that, it has branched out to include the Xfinity and Truck Series levels. Additionally, it has also been the title sponsor of the ARCA Series for a while. Company President John Menard acknowledged that the brand has enjoyed its relationship with Jones. Owing to that, it is eager to continue that success with him and the JR Motorsports team.
