Somewhere in the second half of the season, it was announced that their start driver Noah Gragson would be heading off to the Cup Series. He would be leaving a seat empty at JRM. There was more news about the top management receiving a change as well. As per the latest information, it turns out there has been yet another major change at the iconic team.

Months ago it was announced that Dale Jr‘s sister, Kelley Earnhardt would now be the head of Jr Motorsports and we also saw Junior’s long-time friend and fellow podcaster, Mike Davis jump to the lead of Dirtymo Media. Now as the season draws to a close, prominent NASCAR journalist, Bob Pockrass revealed, “Mike Bumgarner is now competition director at JR Motorsports.”
Aside from the slew of changes within the top management, there has also been a major shift of the crew chief roster, Pockrass, revealed, “JRM crew chief roster: —Jason Burdett moves from Allgaier to Brandon Jones —Taylor Moyer moves from Mayer to Josh Berry —Jim Pohlman comes from RCR to Justin Allgaier —Mardy Lindley comes from KBM to reunite with Sam Mayer“
What does the future hold for JR Motorsports?

Amid all of these changes, there are also rumours that JR Motorsports might be planning to get into the NASCAR Cup Series as soon as possible. It might not happen right away, but it sounds like talks are underway.
Earlier, Kelley Earnhardt had hinted that they were planning their move into the Cup Series. They also mentioned the cost of charters and how they wouldn’t have a problem in fielding charters for their team.
