There has been enough discussion surrounding the streaming options provided for NASCAR races. Media tycoons like FOX and NBC have been invincible when it comes to broadcasting suzerainty. However, these two media giants more often than not have found themselves on the shorter end of the stick owing to various glitches during the showcase of the live action. As a result these two media giants have reported of steep decline in viewership, however another broadcasting has recorded a sharp increase in its popularity from the broadcasting of regional races.

Unlike its predecessors, this broadcasting platform does not portray mainstream NASCAR races but has forayed into the grassroots level of racing. This platform is none other than FloSports, an Austin-based streaming platform, which has already forayed into 25 other sports, apart from racing. Such has been the popularity of the platform, Dale Earnhardt Jr seems to vouch for it for his upcoming racing series.

If it comes to the streaming of NASCAR races, there have been a handful of media partners that have dominated the charter markets. However, the 2025 season will witness the emergence of new players like Amazon Prime, which will host the sport on its platform, after the announcement of NASCAR’s media rights deal. While these platforms are invested in the showcasing of mainstream sport, FloRacing, a subsidiary of FloSports on the contrary has tapped into the world of dirt, sprint, and Late Model Racing.

FloRacing’s’ dominance in the world of dirt racing is evident from the increase in its subscription service. According to the reports published by Sports Business Journal, 20% of its dirt racing viewers have subscribed to its streaming services. This marks one of the top three sports that the platform has invested in. Moreover, it is not just the common individuals that have been a part of the subscription but also NASCAR stalwarts like Kenny Wallace and Dale Earnhardt Jr. The co-owner of CARS Tour stated on Twitter, “What I like about @FloRacing is my sub gives me access to everything. No additional fees for certain events.”

While Wallace stated, “@FloRacing is incredible. $150 dollars for the year and we get hundreds of races and great specials to watch.” Owing to its rise in popularity, FloRacing has extended its partnership with Dale Jr’s CARS Tour for the 2024 season. The platform would remain the official live-streaming partner of the newly rebranded series.

The streaming platform charges $13.25 for its annual subscription, while $39.99 per month for specific sports coverage like FloRacing. Owing to this, the streaming service would live-stream all the 19 races of the CARS Tour beginning on March 2.

Speaking on the popularity of dirt racing on its platform, the CEO and co-founder of FloSports stated, Maybe at some point in the future we will be [needed for more prominent series], but [as for] the short and medium term specifically, in racing there’s a lot of genres that I think we can really serve a purpose to grow their audience and business and create a really great product for fans.” He further added, “So that probably doesn’t mean in the short and medium term that we’d air your F1s and NASCARs, but there’s a lot out there that we do believe works that we could be helpful for.”

Nevertheless, the streaming service is set to more than 500 dirt races in the 2024 season. It will also be partnering with 2021 Cup Series winner Kyle Larson’s racing series, High Limit Racing, after the owner announced the hopes of expansion in the 2024 season and the introduction of a charter system in the series like NASCAR.
