Back in the day, when Dale Earnhardt Jr used to race in the top flight of NASCAR, he disliked fellow NASCAR driver, Kyle Busch, to the point where Junior would prefer not to be in the same room as the latter. However, Junior later used the power of his podcast to make amends between the two of them.

Dale Jr stated, “We continued to bash each other and dog each other in the media, and just dirty look each other every time. Just hate, hate each other. Like I can’t stand to be around the guy, physically uncomfortable being in the same room as him. And I started the podcast so, I invited him on my podcast and we relived all that.”

Junior stated, “So I used to just go on there and talk about race weekend and what I thought about it… I said Kyle it’s time for you to come on the show let’s talk about this. Let’s stop this, you know it’s so far in the past and we talked about it. He said some things that blew me away… We sat down and talked it out and it was great.”

He concluded, “I was glad to not have because I still was uncomfortable being around him. Didn’t like it. Didn’t want to be around him. I don’t like to use the word hate because I didn’t really hate him, I just didn’t like him, man… I wanted to fix that, I can’t like it that way. I don’t like living like that and I’m glad we did and we communicate, we text, we give each other advice.”

Ever since, Busch appeared on that podcast, the relationship between the two has vastly improved. As more and more time passed by, the two drivers and former rivals grew closer than ever before and ended up becoming good friends. However, that did not change Busch’s stance on anyone racing for Hendrick Motorsports, ever since he was kicked out way back to accommodate Junior. Drivers such as Chase Elliott have fallen on the wrong side of Busch’s temper far too many times now. It is certain that while perhaps the relationship between Junior and Busch would have calmed down, the JGR driver continues to hate Hendrick Motorsports for firing him early on.
