Dale Earnhardt Jr is one of the many famous NASCAR drivers to follow in his father’s footsteps. However, he had an interesting hobby when he was young. During his school days, he used to like drawing a lot and his father, Dale Earnhardt, tried to convince him to take art classes in college.
However, he had his heart set on pursuing a racing career, so he resisted heavily. As a result, he tried to avoid drawing since then, simply sticking to the occasional random doodle.
Earnhardt Jr confessed that he was particularly proud of one particular piece. As it turns out, it was a charcoal sketch of his father, Dale Sr’s 1980 Championship winning car.

Speaking about the sketch, he said, “I drew this in high school from the attached photo and had dad sign it. Being charcoal, it’s under transparent paper to protect it. The exact car would be the same car Talladega gave to me in 2017 as a retirement gift. It’s now on display at the HOF in Charlotte. I still have about a dozen drawings I did back when I was a kid.”
