Kyle Larson & HMS Are Planning to Return to Indy 500 Next Year. But Should They?

Yes! It Is Great for NASCAR

No, It Was a Disaster This Time

Earlier this week, setting aside his usual analysis of the NASCAR shenanigans, Dale Earnhardt Jr made an appearance on the ‘Sports & Forks’ podcast. Hosted by culinary influencer, Kelly Senyei, the show went over all about athletes and their connection to the world of food and beverages. So when he was asked who was the best cook in the Earnhardt household, the JR Motorsports veteran immediately admitted defeat.

He shared with Senyei, “Amy is the cook. I’ve got a few things that I enjoy doing, and I can fire up a grill and a smoker and have some fun cooking a lot of meat, and I do think I can cook a mean French toast. I saw this recipe online a year and a half ago about taking vanilla ice cream and using that with French toast instead of the traditional egg and milk and so forth.”

Whilst Dale Jr shed light on some of his creations, they failed to stand tall in front of Amy Earnhardt’s masterpieces. He further stated, “But you know, Amy is a really incredible cook, like, she has no fear. It never fails. Like everything she makes is always a hit.” With Dale Earnhardt Jr having nothing but praise for Amy’s cooking skills, Kelly Senyei figured a cookbook may be in the works.

Although most of the pages of the book would be filled with Amy’s recipes, Earnhardt Jr felt he too could contribute fairly to a joint cookbook. He concluded, “Maybe I could do some collaboration. I know enough to get about a chapter and a half in there.” Despite Junior accepting defeat so easily, it’s safe to see why the JR Motorsports veteran has so much trust in Amy Earnhardt.

Speaking of which, with the success of their joint venture, High Rock Vodka, Dale Jr believes that it is essential for younger drivers to follow suit and create a brand outside of racing.

Dale Earnhardt Jr is one of the wealthiest drivers to ever grace NASCAR, with an estimated net worth of $300 million. Whilst a large chunk of that number is due to the Earnhardt family’s racing success, he is also making good on his investments in the hospitality industry. Apart from the Whiskey River property in North Carolina, Dale Jr’s latest venture, High Rock Vodka, is definitely helping that net worth grow further.

With his various investments, Junior has gotten on top of the biggest fear of most racecar drivers. After all is done with the on-track action, what’s next to keep the ball rolling? According to the JR Motorsports owner, drivers need to take inspiration from athletes who have found brilliant success in other fields as well. Speaking of which, Junior highlighted the brilliant idea that inspired his own journey with High Rock Vodka.

Dale Jr took fans back to the legendary boxer, George Foreman’s iconic product; “George Foreman had the grill right, and so l as an athlete, especially, we all can connect to that story. George Foreman had an incredible career as a boxer, he decided that he was going to partner with this company to make the George Foreman Grill and it became one of the most popular things.”

Reportedly, over 100 million units of the classic George Foreman grill have been sold ever since its creation. Naturally, this has immensely helped the boxer amass a net worth rivaling that of Earnhardt Jr. at $300 million. Reflecting on this, Junior felt that younger NASCAR drivers, too, needed to think ahead.

Earnhardt Junior concluded, “Every channel had that commercial and George Foreman just sold so many grills right, and that idea is really what I talk to other young drivers about. You know, like race, save your money, be smart, but be thinking about what your George Foreman grill is..that is where you need to direct the rest of your passion right and that project that takes you behind your racing career.”
