iRacing is something Dale Earnhardt Jr. is extremely fond of and he has repeated time and again his love of the virtual gaming platform. He has been using the simulation game for almost two decades now, and says it’s just next to the real thing. Just the on-seat feel, the temperatures inside, and the fact that one can crash and restart are different.
Well, iRacing coming to scan his Gen 4 machine is no surprise. The Gen 4 NASCAR engine represents a crucial chapter in NASCAR history. This 358u cubic inch v8 engine was known for its power and reliability. It was a key player in many driver’s lives, mainly Dale Earnhardt Jr. He achieved new heights of success, most notably at Talladega.
He won four consecutive times starting in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 with that beast of an engine. It led to his dad, the legendary Dale Earnhardt, to his last in 1994! Hence, this engine is truly iconic, and no wonder he had it at his place. Moreover, under the post when fans pointed out the legendary wins at Talladega, Junior was quick to point out that he, in fact, did have a great many runs with the engine at Daytona too.
