Former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr will revisit some of the forgotten and abandoned circuits in a new docu-series. NASCAR has been around for a long time and visited many circuits across the United States of America.

Since 1949, the stock car racing series has raced at numerous circuits, but not every circuit has stood the test of time. The series is set to stream on the NBC-owned Peacock streaming service. In fact, Earnhardt Jr recently unveiled the trailer for the series, titled, “Lost Speedways“.

Dale Jr is having fun traveling across the country and exploring abandoned racing tracks. Additionally, NASCAR all-time race-win record holder Richard Petty also features in the series. As it turns out, the trailer teased the Jungle Park Speedway as one of the destinations. For the uninitiated, the Jungle Park Speedway is located outside Indianapolis and it closed in 1960 after numerous ‘horrific accidents’.

What did Dale Earnhardt Jr say?

In the trailer, the Hall of Famer narrated, “For as long as I can remember, I’ve had this fascination for old, abandoned racetracks. The kind of places where my granddad and my father raced. Where my heroes traded paint with my rivals. I’m about to embark on a journey to see and to feel the soul of my sport.”

Additionally, It is worth noting that Dale Jr Podcast host, Matthew Dillner is set to co-host the series that dives into NASCAR’s history. So the two will likely travel to the abandoned race tracks to explain its history before they fell to ruin.

After that, the Peacock streaming service is set to be available to subscribers by July 15th. On the same day, Lost Speedways will premiere on the service, which is good news for NASCAR fans. Coincidentally, NASCAR is set to travel to Tennessee for the all-star race at the Bristol Motor Speedway.
