It is no secret that the NASCAR community, at the core of it, is made of die-hard fans. They are the ones who have the power to make or break the image of a driver or a team. While they can be the loudest supporters, at times, these fans also highlight their sardonic side towards a selective set of drivers.
However, it can’t be denied that crashes and wrecks are a part of the NASCAR territory. And on rare occasions, those wreck turns out to be intentional ones. But if all the controversies are put to rest and accept the fact that “everything is fair in love and war”, then these NASCAR drivers in no way deserve hatred, especially considering that they too are human beings.
Following the same ideology, Dale Earnhardt Jr, is critical of the fans, who spread hatred towards the drivers for apparently no good reason.

Dale Earnhardt Reveals How Bubba Wallace Was Subjected to Hatred in Darlington
Constructive criticism is always welcomed by people in any professional environment, and NASCAR is no different. However, subjecting drivers to racial slurs is surely not something that can ever be welcomed. And the All-Stars-Race seems to be a testament to that after the 23XI Racing’s driver, Bubba Wallace was subjected to a hate comment.
However, it is not new that this African-American driver faced these comments. The world of NASCAR is already aware of the fact, Bubba Wallace is perhaps one of the most hated drivers. He appeared at the top of the most-hated driver’s list, back in 2022.
Although the No. 23 has a passionate fanbase, often there are people that despise this young driver. This is something that Dale Jr had caught back in Darlington. He spilled the beans in the latest episode of Dale Jr Download, to his co-host Mike Davis.
He recounts the fact, “We’re at the Darlington, we’re on the stage and it’s the 75 greatest drivers all lined up and outside me. I mean, these are the greatest drivers that have been involved in the sport. All distinguished of varying ages, everybody’s, there to have this great experience.”
Junior also added, “And the drivers are being introduced and walking by us and shaking our hands, one after the other. And it’s this moment where like, everybody would think that people would be a moment, where you behave.”
Dale Jr’s co-host Mike Davis agreed with the fact and expressed, “It’s a positive vibe.”
The co-owner of JR Motorsports, however, disclosed, “And there’s this one guy at the rail, the rail of the fans that are down on the front. Straight away there’s one guy at the rail and everybody for the most part is just cheering. And you know there, there’s a couple that gives you a hard time. All that just some you know just smothering of boos and nothing crazy right.”
“But Bubba gets introduced, and he walks across the stage. And there’s this guy right in front of me and Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth and everyone screaming at the top of his lungs. ‘Go home, go home, go home’, as loud as he could.”
“And it was like ‘so obnoxious’, I really wanted to jump there and go, ‘hey could you stop?’”

Dale Jr to his displeasure, continued, “Is this really happening, what you want to do right in this moment? Is this how you want to behave right now, in front of these incredible people that are standing here in front of you? Richard Petty and all these legends. You’re going to be acting this way.”
“And I thought, man, that’s one day in Bubba’s life, you know. I was thinking, I know that there are people out there that hate Kyle Busch and hated other drivers. And they have probably have said some nasty things. But it just made me really disappointed.”

It is already known to many that Bubba Wallace has been the most outspoken driver on the NASCAR grid. And the reason for being at the top of the most disliked driver’s list, according to a report published by OutKick, is that “every 1 in 3 posts towards Wallace was resoundingly negative.”
