NASCAR fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of North Wilkesboro Speedway, a legendary racetrack that has been closed since September 29, 1996. The good news is that Dale Earnhardt Jr, a NASCAR Hall of Famer and racing legend, is leading a $22 million effort to revive the track and bring it back to life. But that is not all.

After announcing that will be returning to the track at North Wilkesboro Speedway to compete in the CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car event on May 17, he, more recently, gave some more exciting news to the fans.

Earnhardt, who grew up in North Carolina and has deep ties to the sport of NASCAR, has been a vocal advocate for the revival of North Wilkesboro Speedway. He has long believed that the track has the potential to become a hub for racing enthusiasts, a place where fans can come together to celebrate the sport and its history.

As if the news of the North Wilkesboro Speedway revival wasn’t enough, Dale Earnhardt Jr also had a special surprise in store for his fans. The renowned NASCAR icon has recently disclosed a prolonged continuation of his enduring partnership with Sun Drop through a multi-year extension.

The relaunch of Sun Drop’s social media channels on Instagram and Facebook is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting collaboration between Dale Jr. and the brand. Fans can expect more surprises to be announced in the coming weeks, as hinted by Sports Business Journal Reporter, Adam Stern, in a tweet.

Earnhardt expressed his gratitude to Sun Drop for their continued support and spoke about his excitement for the upcoming late model races. He also took the time to talk about the North Wilkesboro Speedway revival project, urging fans to support the effort and help bring the track back to life.

In both 2023 and 2024, the company owned by Keurig Dr. Pepper will act as the main sponsor for Earnhardt in a single late-model race. This news was met with great enthusiasm from racing fans, who have long been supporters of both Sun Drop and Earnhardt.
