NASCAR is just days away from rolling out its fury at the Martinsville Speedway. All the drivers still in contention for the Xfinity Series title are feeling the adrenaline rush through their veins, throbbing in sync with the ticking clock. However, Dale Earnhardt Jr had enough reasons to celebrate when Sam Mayer won at the Homestead-Miami Speedway and punched his ticket into the Championship 4 race in Phoenix.

That’s not the only good news for Dale Earnhardt Jr and JR Motorsports. A new driver is expected to join Dale Jr’s team in 2024, leaving Joe Gibbs Racing’s Xfinity program. Needless to say, Joe Gibbs has already found not one, but two young speedsters to replace JR Motorsports’ newest recruit. And the Rubbin’ is Racing podcast crew are very happy about it.

Sheldon Creed has already announced his departure from Richard Childress Racing at the end of the current season. Meanwhile, there are reports that he will be joining Joe Gibbs Racing in 2024. But Joe Gibbs Racing has another surprise for their fans as the team recently announced the name of another valuable addition to their team.

Chandler Smith will exit Matt Kaulig’s team and possibly land on Joe Gibbs Racing’s Xfinity garage for the upcoming season. Smith, the #16 Chevrolet driver for Kaulig Racing, is currently one of the remaining eight drivers in the Xfinity Series playoffs. He is placed 7th on the leaderboard, 54 points below the cutline.

This would perhaps be a great move for Joe Gibbs Racing, especially as one of their drivers is moving out of the Toyota garage to join Junior‘s team. Getting these two young talents could make up for the loss of a driver. Needless to say, Spider, of the Barstool Sports fame, was ecstatic when Large said, “I think a good driver that you’d want to have on your team and he’s gone from Kaulig, possibly going to Joe Gibbs Racing.”

Spider exclaimed, “I’m a Chandler Smith fan and I’m also excited by this move because it sounds like Chandler Smith not only will be going to Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity series but Sheldon Creed, another of our favorite Xfinity drivers who is leaving RCR…it sounds like him and Chandler Smith are potentially joining the Joe Gibbs Xfinity program, which I love.”

But the question remains?who is the driver that led to Joe Gibbs hiring two drivers as replacements?
