Trevor Bayne became the youngest driver to win the Daytona 500 in 2011. Next year, the 2003 Cup champion Matt Kenseth skirted Dale Earnhardt Jr to win the prestigious race. In 2019, Angela Ruch landed her truck in the 8th position in Daytona. Unfortunately, their stories had a far more somber connection than the city.
These racing gems got lost among the countless seashells spread across a deserted beach. Unlike 0ther sports, the sheer talent they exuded was simply not enough to power the fierce engines of their racecars. Dale Jr‘s sister and co-owner of JR Motorsports elucidated the inescapable element of NASCAR.

NASCAR teams are categorized by and through wealthy individuals in the privileged position of purchasing expensive charters, more often than not passed down through generations. Kelly Earnhardt Miller isn’t foreign to these dynamic intricacies.
Entrepreneur and daughter of the legendary Dale Earnhardt, Kelly Miller attempted to bring light to the unique nature of the sport in the Dale Jr Download. She endeavored, “I don’t know if you can articulate the differences between some of the athletes that you represent. I’m just sitting here and thinking about being a golfer. And the crux of the issue remained NASCAR’s inalienable reliance on sponsorships, in a driver’s first race itself. Racers with deep pockets have equipment, crew, and sponsors lined up for them from the get-go. But all the skills in the world cannot produce the millions of dollars required to compete in a NASCAR series. Miller continued,
“I mean motorsports is complicated at the end of the day. It is complicated. From the driver’s perspective to making it to the team’s perspective of operating to the sponsorship model. Because we are so heavily dependent on that sponsorship…These other guys, golfers and ballplayers, they are not dependent on how much money they can bring to the table. They get paid.”
The market capital of a sponsor poses yet another hindrance. One would be hard-pressed to find an NFL player sporting different brands in different games within the same season. But NASCAR racers often scramble for multiple sponsors when individual corporations are only willing to fund select races. But one global name is steadily restoring the former glory of this thrilling sport.

If there is any billion-dollar corporation most intrinsically connected with the racing community, it is Coca-Cola. From stock cars to racing events and even entire racetracks, the soft drink giant plays a crucial role in NASCAR’s promotion and visibility in the modern era. It would be nearly impossible to stream a live race without encountering numerous ad breaks associated with the Fortune 500 company. Ten or twenty years ago, there were several.
Caterpillar, Home Depot, and Subway were a few of the many companies with international recognition that proudly aligned themselves with NASCAR.
