Dale Earnhardt Jr. is going to be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame soon. In the buildup to the occasion, the former Hendrick Motorsports driver talked about his belongings in the Hall of Fame. Among the various bits of paraphernalia, Dale Jr revealed how Chase Elliott was a contributing factor to his HoF induction.

As it turned out, Elliott’s 2014 NASCAR Xfinity Series title was the first title for JR Motorsports. For the uninitiated, Dale Jr. and his sister Kelley Earnhardt co-own the JR Motorsports team. So it makes sense that 2014 trophy will be included in his Hall of Fame case.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said, “Chase did what we thought Chase would do. That’s a great example of a guy coming through our system. JR Motorsports has to work as a farm team, an asset to a Cup organisation. The minute it’s working right, the turnover and the people coming in and out of here. Going back to them, it’s so fun to watch. So while the championship’s on the sheet, that’s why you’re putting me in this Hall of Fame. All those people walking around in the garage that ever worked here, that turned to you and said, ‘An opportunity came because of that’. That’s awesome.”

At the moment, the former driver is looking forward to the 2022 campaign. For the new season, JR Motorsports is fielding Sam Mayer, Justin Allgaier, Josh Berry and Noah Gragson. All four are fairly talented drivers and will be keen to win the Xfinity Series title for the team.
