Dale Earnhardt Jr is going to break the “Titanic”! I know this can get the readers very much confused at this point. But, let me break that for you. No, he is not going to dive 4000 meters, halfway through the Atlantic bed, if that’s what got you thinking. This is about Dale Jr’s newly acquired interest in LEGO, the Denmark-based plastic toy manufacturing company. And just to give you some context, the Titanic is the biggest toy model the company has ever created.

A model is displayed in Cavendish, Canada with 125,000 plastic LEGO bricks. However, LEGO fans are going gaga over their recently announced replica Titanic model comprising 9000 bricks. This list includes our very own ‘Junebug.’ But how did all these get on his wife Amy’s nerves?

“I’m not gonna make LEGOs for the next 30 years,” said Dale Jr

Dale Jr sat in a recent episode of “The Dale Jr Download” by Dirty Air and spoke about various aspects, ranging from Phoenix race to his new hobby. The interviewer asked about his purchase of the Titanic on another episode of Dale Jr.’s Dirty Mo Media, and why it got Amy infuriated. Dale Jr countered it by saying that he’s not going to make it a habit, it’s just a new liking.

“You know she’ll give me a hard time about it, but she’s genuinely not liking it. She’s not a fan, she’s really not happy about it. I mean it’s like just one LEGO set, I’m not gonna make a crew out of LEGO, right? I’m not gonna make LEGOs for the next 30 years,” said Dale Jr while laughing.

Although this is not an obsession for him, as he states, Dale Jr is clearly motivated by the challenge of making the vast model of the legendary ship. He will not bothered about it once done and it put out for display for some days. He will even break the outcome of his hard work and put it aside in a box, if that’s what keeps Amy happy.

Dale Jr said, “But this big Titanic, this is a challenge. I can not try this. I think Amy is worried that, okay the Titanic is huge, the four feet long, when you get done with this, where the hell it’s gonna go? See, I’m gonna build this thing, it will set out for a while, and then I don’t know. I’ll throw it back in the box, and it’ll disappear.” Surely, Amy would love that.

But where did Dale Jr’s love for LEGO’s come from? Well, surprisingly, it was HMS driver William Byron who got him into it during an episode of The Dale Jr Download.

Hendrick Motorsports’ No. 24 driver William Byron’s obsession over LEGO is not unknown to anyone. In fact, Dale Jr’s interest for the Titanic model started when Byron himself introduced him to the model. Dale then purchased the using the link sent by Byron while filming for an episode of his podcast.

Amy’s hesitation was clearly seen in the rather hilarious video when Dale was discussing about the Titanic model’s features with Byron. She even asked Byron to stop and stated that Dale can pay him a visit if he wants to look at it.

Dale Jr talked about his friends who are obsessed with LEGOs and claims that he is not one of them. He also does not approve of making it a regular chore. He said, “You know I got buddies, they’ll be like, ‘Oh awesome you’ve got to do this Titanic’. And be sending me all these pictures of the LEGOs that they have built. And I’m like, ‘I’m not building that sh*t’. The little LEGO stuff, like the little car, little things you know, I ain’t doing that. I’m not that into it.”
