The NASCAR community has often regarded Dale Earnhardt Sr. as one of the greatest drivers ever to grace the sport. However, back in 1990, during the NASCAR annual awards ceremony banquet, the Intimidator received a one-of-a-kind gift from Goodyear. It was later revealed that Earnhardt Sr. may have lost that item forever, but his son harbors hope for it still being there with Richard Childress.

A NASCAR journalist posted a clip from the 1990 awards banquet, where Earnhardt Sr received a solid gold die-cast from Goodyear. The caption read, “Dale Earnhardt accepts his gold replica car from Goodyear at the 1990 Awards Banquet. He has a cast on his hand because he whipped a guy’s ass for hunting deer on his property.”
Soon, Dale Earnhardt Jr tweeted explaining the plausible whereabouts of the die-cast. Junior stated, “Richard Childress has the cast cause apparently dad had the team saw it off at the shop after the banquet.”

Earnhardt Sr. apparently had a lot of deer on his property. However, this one time, a few guys decided to hunt the deers they had seen earlier on the seven-time Cup Series champion’s property. After the men took a shot at one of the deer and approached the animal, Earnhardt Sr. apparently lunged out of nowhere and caught hold of one of the guys, and started severely punching him. He only stopped hitting the man after he recognized their voice.

The man had apparently been at Earnhardt’s property during the day to work on a few things. Earnhardt Sr. later called the local officials to take the man in. Even though after that incident, the NASCAR legend wore a cast everywhere he went, he preferred not to tell anyone about what had actually happened. It was only years after his death that his son, Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed what had gone down that fine day.
Do you think the authorities at Richard Childress still possess the gold die-cast? If yes, should they return it to the family members of the late legend?
