With the news of the Chicago Street race coming up next year and also being the first of its kind in NASCAR many people find the prospect to be interesting. Meanwhile, Dale Earnhardt Jr stated that he could not fathom how this massive logistical challenge of assembling a brand new street would go down.

Junior stated, “That was the one thing that I find probably the most to wrap my brain around is, you saw you wanna own it. So if this happening … beyond this year seems to be a big challenge. this is the way my mind works. But when you have a street course but an established street course they understand how to put the street course together and then how to take it back apart and they do this for, year in and year out for whatever series it’s running in.”
He further stated, “And for the Chicago street course it will be its first iteration, this will be the first time that this has ever happened, and the logistics of that alone and you know being able to build this street course into this functioning space right, it seems to be massive.”

NASCAR’s first ever-foray into the world of street circuit racing comes next season. The Chicago street race will be a one-of-a-kind event for NASCAR, even though such formats of tracks have been fairly regular in series’ such as Formula 1 and Formula E.
The race will be hosted during the first week of July 2023. It will surely be a challenge for both the drivers and the teams to make sure that they are able to capitalize on this new type of track configuration.

The NASCAR senior vice president of racing development and strategy, Ben Kennedy, stated that the Chicago venue was the ideal setting for the first-ever NASCAR street race. Fans sure hope that is the case and that the racing is decent enough to keep the fans hooked on.
