Dale Earnhardt Jr was indeed a spectacular racer. With him solid in the greatest 75 drivers’ list, even NASCAR acknowledged the driver’s glory. While there is no question about the driver’s racing prowess, a recent AI survey has landed NASCAR’s broadcasting partner in trouble with fans as they raise a valid question, is Dale Jr greater than Kyle Busch?
The community came across the survey recently but what initiated the dispute were the rankings. Fox on NASCAR’s quirky idea quickly turned bad as Kyle Busch was overshadowed by the 2-time Daytona winner. In other words, Dale Jr was ranked higher than Rowdy.

This was the question that disturbed most KB fans as NASCAR’s broadcasting partner, Fox, came out with a rather disputable list of drivers from the Cup Series. While the original intention behind the post was just to tickle the fanbase with an intriguing list, the seemingly unsuspecting post hit the spot as frenzied Busch fans came to defend the #8 driver’s pride.
Using the AI tool, Chat GPT, Fox on NASCAR’s official Instagram handle rolled out a ranking of the top 10: Cup Series drivers since 2000. Even though the ranking had the names of the 7-time champ, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, and Tony Stewart, fans felt like the list needs some tweaks to be perfect.
While the list missed out on iconic drivers like Martin Truex Jr and the Team Penske phenom, Joey Logano, it was the ranking that tipped off fans. Chat GPT had Kyle Busch in 6th when Dale Jr and Kevin Harvick were ranked higher up.

Fox certainly knows how to rile up fans as the post captioned, “Who are the best #NASCAR Cup Series drivers since 2000? We asked ChatGPT and here are the results.” had massive responses from the community. The post received over 5 thousand like in just hours while comments are still racking up.

While one of the drivers in contention is more calm and collected, the other is known for his infamous reputation that stems from his brash and cut-throat nature, earning him the nickname “rowdy.” Also, it is worth noting that Dale Jr officially retired in 2017 and Busch is still active in the scene, racking up wins.
With his 62nd win coming at the iconic Superspeedway, Talladega, the Richard Childress Racing driver is miles ahead in terms of numbers and statistics favoring him over the veteran Dale Jr. Whereas Dale Jr is known for his prowess in speedways like the Daytona where he won both in 2004 and 2014.

Despite the ranking having most of the names in the sport, what let down fans were the horrendous ranking. Both the Bush Brothers were ranked at 6 and 7 with Kurt Busch at 7 whereas Dale Jr and Stewart-Haas Racing‘s Harvick occupied the 5th and 4th place, respectively.
Moreover, the community has been expressing their displeasure with Fox’s offbeat ways of race coverage. There have persistent claims from fans that the broadcaster is deliberately missing out on specific parts of the race. With this slowly brewing in the background, fans jumped the gun to bash Fox publically.
One fan comment highlighted the careless attitude of Fox. “Why are you using ChatGPT when you have statistics that you can use? That is, if it’s not too much of an effort for you”
While another fan took on the test, as he searched for the result using the same software.
“Just did this and it gave me Johnson, Gordon, Stewart, Kyle Busch, Harvick, Hamlin, Kurt Busch, Kenseth, Keselowski, Edwards as the top 10. They didn’t even include Jr”
