Home/NASCAR

To say that JR Motorsports had a good season would be an understatement. Noah Gragson essentially dominated the 2022 season in the #9 car, winning eight races in that year. Recently, Junior got dragged in a twitter battle with a fan and you might argue that his sister surely got  the better of that fan.

Now, this particular fan tried very hard to put down the organization. But Junior’s sister, who also happens to be the co-owner of JRM joined her brother as they trolled the fan.

After JRM nearly lost the championship, their driver, Sam Mayer Tweeted, “Tough day… had so much speed before getting spun. Raced clean especially at the end. Dale let all 4 of us know that the championship is only earned if you earn it with respect. It was only right to race clean no matter the circumstances at the end.”

One particularly unhappy fan replied to Mayer saying, With all due respect to you and your owner, what does @DaleJr know about winning championships?

But of course, Junior’s sister, Kelley thought it was time to put the fan in their place as she responded, “Quite a bit. He is a two time driver champ and 3 time owner champion.”

Hilariously enough, Dale Jr. himself chose to troll the fan as he showed off the two Chance 2 titles, 5 if you count the chance 2 days. We count those don’t we @MartinTruex_Jr

Quite a hilarious exchange between the three. Safe to say, the fan knows not to question someone like Earnhardt Jr. again!

But still, he lost a Championship when he had a perfect shot at it. So, how did he feel?

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said losing the championship felt gut-wrenching

Gragson had the most wins, top-5s, and even top-10th out of all drivers in the series. Of course, he was leading the majority of the playoffs. Unfortunately, he failed to prevail at Phoenix, as Gibbs took the title.

So, how did the owner feel?

Junior described the feeling, “It was rough to watch. But, gut-wrenching, you know, even when you’re leading.”

However, he remains positive, “But, It’s a blessing to be successful and be fast enough to have a shot at it. And you know, you’re not gonna win every race or every opportunity at a Championship. And we had a great opportunity and just didn’t put it together. And Ty Gibbs and #54 and Joe Gibbs, they put it together.”

It sure is sad to see Gragson lose the Championship despite being the best of the rest. But he’s heading to GMS next year, which is now part-owned by the seven-time Cup Series Champion. Do you think Noah will redeem himself in the Cup Series? Let us know in the comments.
