Kyle Larson is pretty well-known for being one of the most versatile drivers. Currently, he is juggling the NASCAR Cup Series with many dirt racing events, a fair number of which fall on the same weekend. Logistically speaking, it should be horribly difficult, but Larson somehow manages to get it done. Now, the newest objective for the Hendrick Motorsports driver is the Indianapolis 500. Theoretically, it can be done, and it will be another feather in Larson’s cap. However, Dale Earnhardt Jr has revealed that there may be some obstacles.

He said, “The only thing that gets in the way, really, is the manufacturers, sponsorships. Conflicts like that. Those are the only limiting factors for a driver in today’s era of motorsport. Years ago, you could drive one make and then hop in another make. You could work it out, you could massage everything to keep everybody happy. Nowadays, its gotta be a Chevy, its gotta be something aligned with Chevrolet. Or its gotta be something aligned with his partners, and getting all that right, it sometimes impossible. That’s the biggest road block.”

What lies ahead for Kyle Larson in the 2022 NASCAR Cup season?
At the moment, Larson is having an up and down campaign, with a win and a second-place finish at Auto Club and Las Vegas respectively. However, the Daytona 500 and the Phoenix Raceway yielded poor results. Despite this, he was still able to maintain 4th place in the Cup Series championship. However, he needs to get his campaign back on track if he wants to deliver a second Cup Series title.

Admittedly, there is a low chance of him attempting the 2022 Indy 500. However, he will surely not rule out a shot at the iconic race in the near future. The only question is when he does eventually run in the event, can he win the race? For now, though, the #5 driver will be focusing on the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series campaign.
