Dale Earnhardt Jr is returning to the IceBreaker! As a part of JR Motorsports’ Late Model Stock car plans, Junior will race at the Florence Motor Speedway. The IceBreaker is one of the most essential off-season races for many drivers who prefer to race in the Late Model Stock car division. Before heading to the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series, the race in Florence allows drivers to gain some practice and points, getting their edge back in time for the national and regional competitions. Owing to the same, Dale Earnhardt Jr has also regularly competed at the race track and now fans will see him return ince again this year!
Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Florence IceBreaker 2024 schedule
The Florence Motor Speedway will host four divisions of race cars at the IceBreaker. Starting from February 10, all categories will begin racing with the practice sessions. Euro-style qualifying sessions will be held later in the afternoon. Following a pre-race ceremony soon after, the Super Trucks feature race will kickstart the event in full motion.

However, the venue will be open to teams on February 8. The following day, rotating practice and team meetings will take most of the drivers’ time. It is safe to say that Dale Earnhardt Jr will the biggest name to join the grid this year. But he won’t be alone. CARS Tour Late Model Stock champion and JR Motorsports driver Carson Kvapil will also race in Florence. Earnhardt Jr. will drive the No.3 car, and his driver Kvapil will pilot the #8, with the speedway’s defending champion Matt Cox hoping to protect his title in the No.51 car.

In recent years, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been a frequent visitor to the Florence Motor Speedway. His liking for the race track grew with his visits, starting with the South Carolina 400. In 2023, Junior raced in three events in Florence, finishing 16th in the IceBreaker. With a much-anticipated return this year, he hopes to improve that result.
While the Florence stint will be a major highlight in Dale Earnhardt Jr’s calendar, his other venture, the CARS Tour, is also set to kick off with a new season. The series co-owner Junior, along with other elite NASCAR professionals involved in the promotion, made waves in the community with the competition’s 2024 schedule. What got fans most excited about the schedule is the return of two of their favorite tracks.

Late Model racing followers were eagerly waiting for the announcement of the 2024 CARS Tour schedule. In the last half-decade, the CARS Tour has slowly carved itself into a premier tournament. It has gathered racing talents countrywide and its appeal climbed up several notches a few weeks earlier when Dale Earnhardt Jr and Co. flaunted the Orange Country and North Wilkesboro races in the schedule.
Dale Jr has contributed actively to the NWB Speedway’s restoration, which naturally attracted a CARS Tour race to the venue. Revealing the plans, Dale Earnhardt Jr said, “There is a lot to unpack and a lot to be excited about this season – two trips to North Wilkesboro and adding Orange County to the schedule. It’s going to be tough competition for the drivers and a great show for our fans in the stands, and for those watching on FloRacing. Our partnership with FloRacing has helped tremendously in building exposure and excitement around the zMAX CARS Tour. I’m looking forward to continuing that.”
These historic racetracks will draw fans and drivers alike. The schedule gave the fans a look at the 19-race plan for the CARS Tour. The competition will kick off at the Southern National Motorsports Park in March and the championship race will be held in North Wilkesboro. Its schedule will also coincide with the NASCAR All-Star Race week in May.
