Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s podcast is a treasure trove for NASCAR fans, dishing out insights on drivers’ performances, future prospects, and improvement tips. But it’s not just about racing; he delves into his personal life, family, and plans, and his audience laps it all up. His loyal fanbase can’t get enough of it all, but there’s one thing that sets their hearts racing: those exclusive behind-the-scenes revelations that only those in the NASCAR inner circle know about.

Once again, Dale Jr. has delivered another jaw-dropping piece of information that even the most passionate NASCAR fans couldn’t have foreseen. During his discussion about the Xfinity race on Saturday, he shared a fascinating incident from the circuit involving a couple holding two checkered flags, one pristine and the other weathered. It turns out the fresh one was for the victorious driver, a keepsake they often pose with.

And on the same front, Dale Jr spilled the beans on a little-known fact: when they’re on the celebratory stage, the props they’re given are mere replicas! The real trophies are carefully stashed away to prevent any accidental harm.

As Dale Jr recalled, “It reminds me of when we won the race at Martinsville. We jumped on that stage and started bouncing around, and the clock was up there, and the clock was about to fall over, and everybody at home’s going, ‘You’re about to destroy your clock.’ What they didn’t know was my clock was in the box in the infield; that’s not my clock. That’s a prop.” The coveted Martinsville trophy, often considered the ultimate novelty prize, is perhaps kept safe from damage during exuberant celebrations, with props serving as stand-ins.

However, this is not the only secret he has revealed so far. There’s more!!

He revealed that each manufacturer puts their own special touch on the NASCAR engines, but at the end of the day, they all have to play by NASCAR’s rules. The drivers become the guinea pigs, taking the modified rides for a test drive to see if they pass muster or get the boot.

But here’s the kicker: sometimes, the manufacturers aren’t too thrilled about embracing change. They go all out, pulling strings and bending ears, trying to influence the decision-makers and sway the inclusion or rejection of a particular car part. It turns into a political spectacle; as Dale Earnhardt Jr. aptly describes it, “It’s a damn soap opera; it’s a drama show.”
