Dale Earnhardt Jr last raced at the Food City 300, where he made a cameo at the Xfinity Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. His iconic #88 car faced a major issue during this race when he lost his radio connection for over 50 laps. However, he overcame the same and marked a strong seventh-place finish. The tweet has rekindled hopes of witnessing the Earnhardt family’s comeback to the race track, even though it might be outside NASCAR.
However, this does not signify whether the collaboration will be a long or short-term collaboration. Earnhardt Jr retired from the NASCAR series due to his pressing health conditions where he had recurrent concussions while combating the pressures of driving through the NASCAR series. While the probable return to Cordele Speedway with the CARS Tour is great news, it allows Earnhardt Jr to get behind the steering once again without having to combat the pressure of a full-time NASCAR driver.

Recently, the Martinsville Speedway saw one of the most controversial races of all time. William Byron was safeguarded by his Chevy teammates Ross Chastain and Austin Dillon so that Byron would not lose out on any position that could drive him out of the Top 4. On the contrary, it was also seen that Bubba Wallace imitated a flat tire and slowed down temporarily so that he could be easily taken over by Christopher Bell. While these instances are not new, it has certainly left Dale Earnhardt Jr baffled. Earnhardt Jr expressed that in such a scenario, it is always necessary to set a precedent.

Reacting to what happened on the tracks, Dale Earnhardt Jr said, “I will be shocked if NASCAR comes out this week and says we didn’t see anything or we’re not gonna make a call on that. That’s a strategy that we’re gonna allow. Ross Chastain and Austin Dillon are running side by side. William Byron’s right in front of them. He is struggling; he is on old tires. Those two drivers driving Chevrolets are sitting right behind. There’s a lot of chatter on the radio, not direct, do not pass William Byron because it was not really super direct but it was enough information from spotters”.
However just after Dale Earnhardt Jr shared his insights, NASCAR announced a penalization for the team members through whom the information reached the drivers. The teams now stand with their Crew Chief, team executive, and spotter suspended for the Finals at Phoenix. They have also been penalized with a $100,000 fine along with 50 50-point deduction from both the team and the driver point standings. Do you think that this was enough or should there have been dire consequences for drivers involved like suspension?
