Celebrating a remarkable milestone this year, NASCAR marks its 75th year since its inception. To honor this occasion, NASCAR unveiled a list of its 75 greatest drivers, a testament to the incredible talent that has graced the sport over the years. Additionally, a grand reunion of these esteemed drivers was organized, bringing together some of the most iconic figures in the history of the sport.

At this illustrious gathering, several renowned former NASCAR drivers, including Dale Earnhardt Jr, were in attendance to commemorate the milestone. Amidst the celebrations, the man known to be the fiercest competitor of Junior’s father seized the moment to drop one-liners.

Junior recently explained the story of how those comments caught drivers like Martin Truex Jr and Chase Elliott off guard, leaving them somewhat chagrined yet amused.

Dale Earnhardt Jr shares a hilarious story from the recent gathering

Dale Earnhardt Jr, in the latest episode of his Dale Jr. Download podcast, shared, “Geoff Bodine is in this space with us and I’m sitting with Jeff Burton and we’re having some fun conversations about the Cars Tour… [Martin Truex Jr] sits beside Jeff Burton. So it’s me, Truex, and Burton at the table.”

He continued, “He (Bodine) says something like I’ll introduce myself to you and said something along the lines of ‘When are you gonna put that check in the mail…? Since I, modified guy, broke down the barrier, set to pave the road so to speak for you and other modified racers’.”

” And Martin is like don’t know how to respond. I’m loving it. I think it is awesome. Martin’s like… it’s awkward. It’s absolutely spot-on for Geoff Bodine, it’s his brand of humor. Jeff walks away and Martin is like, ‘Man, that was getting right to the point’.”

Shortly thereafter, Junior proceeded with his anecdote, revealing how Chase Elliott became the next target of Bodine’s comedic timing just moments later.

Junior recounted that immediately after inviting everyone to ski, Bodine simply walked away. He then illustrated the responses that followed. According to him, Chase’s reaction mirrored Martin’s. Moreover, he found Jeff’s fiery response rather amusing.

He, later on, added, “Imagine that guy (Bodine). With that personality, and being a competitor… Imagine there are the one-liners in the garage or, the driver’s meeting or in passing. And then you go out on the racetrack, he squeezes you or cuts you off. Does something that you don’t like, Oh my God!”
