The 2022 Busch Light Clash at the LA Coliseum is almost here and the cars have had their first laps on the track. In the buildup to the race, opinions have been divided about the track. Many like the track, but there are so many others who are not fond of the small nature of the track. However, Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr has a lot of positive things to say about the track.
He said, “I’ll give a lot of credit to NASCAR and the LA Coliseum. The quality of work and craftsmanship in the racetrack is top shelf. It looks very nice in person. How it’ll race, we all have to tune in to find out. I think it’ll be a prize fight in a phone booth.”

Of course, his comments have divided the fans, with some agreeing, and others suggesting that the race will be bad. Some of the cars have already ventured out on the track, and admittedly, the track looks very small. However, the sport is confident that things will go off without a hitch.

What is Dale Earnhardt Jr expecting from the race?
Earnhardt Jr and many others are hoping that this race goes over well. This is important for NASCAR because it could open up many doors for other states to try and bid for a place on the calendar. From a driving perspective, navigating a small track like this could be a challenge.
However, it will be one that the drivers will be keen to sink their teeth into. For the naysayers or for the ones who are on the fence, at least this race has no effect on the championship. Some believe that races like these are better off as exhibition events or non-championship races. This is because there will be fewer instances of drivers taking risks and dinging up their cars too much.
