Everyone has their allegiances in NASCAR, of course. Whether that’s with a manufacturer, owner, or even a team. And being biased toward one is pretty natural for everyone in the sport. And this time Dale Earnhardt Jr. felt the brunt of the accusations.
Interestingly, he owns up to whatever he said.

The Championship Race saw the #1 and #9 car collide in Phoenix. And that caused Elliott to spin out and lose any hope of winning. But Dale Jr. had a pretty interesting approach, as he suggested the #1 should lift to let Chase through. Or at least, that’s what the fans thought he was implying.
Of course, the fans were pissed about the Hendrick Motorsports bias. A fan seemingly accused the veteran of siding with Hendrick and the Chevy in contention. Junior came across the comments and replied, “I was only trying to explain what one champ contender needed or could do to beat the other. The manufacturers are purely coincidence. I can’t help what car they drive.”
He added, “No joke tho. I been a Chevy guy all my life. But in the booth I really try to care less what car they drive. I’ll pay more attention to see if I unintentionally bring some bias in there. If so I’ll work on it.”
However, Junior sticks by what he said and has a good reason for it, too.

“Somebody on social media did say, ‘Man, he really calls it all towards the Chevys. If you watch, if you watch enough broadcast, you’ll see Dale calls it for the Chevys’. When It’s Chevy on Chevy, I’m gonna easily go for the shit.,” He said. “That was the easy one for me. Cause it for the shit. I had a little fun with that.”
