Dale Earnhardt Jr Believes Denny Hamlin’s Appeal Aftermath Would Unveil More of What “Everybody Wants to Know” Than “Cryptic” Hendrick Motorsports’

Following the outcomes of Hendrick Motorsports’ and Kaulig Racing‘s respective appeals, the racing community has been voicing their displeasure. With the sanctioning body slamming hefty penalties on teams and drivers and the National Motorsports Appeals Panel modifying the penalties, NASCAR is already under heavy criticism for its far-off methods. And with Hendrick Motorsports coming out successfully with the appeal, fans were closely following Denny Hamlin’s appeal process. One of those looking out for the outcome of Hamlin’s appeal was 2x Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Speaking to his friend and associate Mike Davis, Dale Jr expressed his thoughts on that matter. Considering that a solid and influential team in the sport came out successful while another team did not get similarly lenient treatment, Dale Jr pointed out the need for “transparency” in these appeals.

During the latest episode of The Dale Jr. Download podcast, Junior mentioned, “Alright I get that, I believe that would be helpful to have a little transparency on the appeal, right. And what did HMS say to change their minds? What was this information or what did HMS have on NASCAR that helped them win that points back? That’s what I think everybody wants to know.” 

Addressing the evident disparity in the appeals process, Dale Jr spoke the minds of many fans. He also mentioned the apparent mismatch in these judgments, “And nobody’s really coming out and saying it, exactly what it was.”

Understating that both parties (Hendrick Motorsports and NASCAR) involved have their own versions of the story, he also voiced that it’s a waste of energy to try and figure out the exact thing that caused the whole debacle.

Further, voicing the evident miscommunication, Dale Jr added, “I just like to know why the appeals panel came to the decision they came to, specifically why did the money stay, why did the points go back? What did HMS bring to the table that was so convincing, convince us, you know, let us in on it?” 

Talking about the Hamlin debacle, Dale Jr further points out the disparity!

Last month, the community was shocked to hear the news of NASCAR strapping hefty penalties to its driver Denny Hamlin for his open admission of wrecking Ross Chastain as an act of revenge.

“What the hell happened in there that made them change their minds, right? How in the hell is an appeal won? Tell us, right? details,” he added.

Watching all the drama unfolding, Dale Jr also voiced his concerns as he wondered how Hamlin’s appeal would unravel and how the system clearly works. “And I think that’s why I’m saying that I think Denny’s appeal will be the most theatre because he will tell us,” said a curious Dale Jr.
