For the recent episode of his podcast, Dale Earnhardt Jr invited two-time INDY500 winner, Al Unser Jr., The interview was an intimate, honest, and inspiring conversation about reflection on mistakes, on heroes, and on expectations.

Al Unser Jr, who has suffered from substance abuse in his life, opened up about his battles off the track to Dale Jr.

Later, the NASCAR Hall of Famer revealed him to be one of the racecar drivers he rooted for when he was younger. “Like a lot of young kids I pulled for Al Jr the racer, especially because he was a Jr. He said in our interview that his personal mistakes have removed him from that pedestal,” Dale Earnhardt Jr tweeted.

He further stated, “I want a new short track. I want a North Wilkesboro, a Nashville Fairgrounds, a South Boston. I want a legit short track added to the schedule.”
