It all began as a job. Dale Earnhardt Jr. met his wife Amy Reimann after he hired her interior design company to renovate his home in North Carolina. The couple kept their relationship private for two years before they were seen in public together for the first time in 2011 at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champions Week Awards Ceremony. Junior popped the question six years after the couple began dating while on a vacation in Germany, and they were married soon after at Richard Childress Vineyards. The duo also have two daughters together, Isla Rose and Nicole Lorraine, who are six and four respectively.

In an Instagram post uploaded by Amy Earnhardt, she wrote, “Spent the last few days in Anguilla celebrating our 8th anniversary! Hard to believe it’s been that long and hoping for many, many more. Love you Ralph. Happy New Year everybody!” Before the post was uploaded, Dale Earnhardt Jr’s wife had uploaded several stories from their holiday, without disclosing their location to protect their privacy.

Palm trees, clean beaches, blue skies, and cool water are exactly the kind of getaway Junior and Amy Earnhardt needed. Looking at the photographs, it seems like the couple were without their kids, highlighting that it was truly an anniversary celebration rather than just a family vacation. The married couple also clicked a couple of selfies together, and both looked happier than ever in each other’s company.

Sharing Dale Jr.’s love for sweets, Amy Earnhardt said, “He tends to hide the weird stuff and I’ll find it. This goes back to feeling like another child in the house to take care of because he knows it’s something he’ll get nagged for. He just recently bought a bunch of candy that I intercepted. He used to eat fireballs. What he did with the middle part of it was to stick it to the couch. And we didn’t find them for a very long time.”

Revealing how she finally found out about Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s habit, Amy Earnhardt went on to say, “Our housekeeper, she calls Sonny out. She’s like, ‘Sonny, I don’t know what this is, but there’s a bunch of tiny little white pebbles underneath the couch. And they smell like cinnamon’. And Sonny starts dying laughing. He’s like, that’s a damn fireball.” The revelation made Junior chuckle, and he went on to say, “Inviting Amy on might have been a mistake.”
