For the longest time, Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. were rivals on the track. Their outspoken personalities haven’t helped their cause one bit. Despite retiring from the NASCAR Cup Series, Dale Jr. has been very active off the tracks. Having witnessed Busch win the Auto Club 400 on Sunday, Junior had some contrasting feelings. What he said despite that is too good to be true.

Busch made the headlines as he registered his first-ever win for Richard Childress Racing. While Dale dislikes the two-time Cup Series champion, he admires RCR due to his past links. The win last Sunday brought out a number of emotions in him with an unexpected acceptance.

Kyle Busch recorded a win in the NASCAR Cup Series for the 19 consecutive year, surpassing King Richard Petty. It was his 61st Cup Series win in total. Without a doubt, he is one of the best in the sport’s history.

Post this win, two Hendrick Motorsports racers were in awe of the former Joe Gibbs Racing driver’s achievement. However, despite his mixed feelings, Dale said, “We heard it from Kyle Larson, from Chase Elliott after the race [Kyle being great]. They are like, why is everybody surprised about this? Why is this such a big deal?

“He’s great, he’s good and I think that’s all true. I agree with that.” Such positive words from Junior would have meant a lot to Busch. In fact, Dale added some more details to these statements.

Furthermore, the former Hendrick Motorsports racer explained how age is on Kyle’s side right now. He said, “37 to 43 [age] is probably every driver’s peak moment in terms of when, where, you know, risk-taking and experience and savviness and patience. All those things sort of cross at a point in a person’s life and in NASCAR and Stock car drivers, it seems to be that 35 or 37 to 43 years.”
