Fontana’s Auto Club Speedway Speedway’s 2-mile track is all set to host its final NASCAR Xfinity Series race on February 25 before it undergoes a major revamp. NASCAR has finalized its plan of revamping the speedway from a two-mile circuit to a much shorter half-mile track.

With the project about to kick off in the coming months, the Auto Club Speedway would not be a part of the 2024 NASCAR calendar.

Xfinity Series driver Jeffery Earnhardt recently appeared on The Dale Jr. Download podcast alongside uncle Dale Earnhardt Jr and aunt Kelley Earnhardt Miller. During the conversation, Dale Jr expressed his disappointment about not being able to get a spot in the upcoming race at the Auto Club Speedway. He also expressed envy towards Jeffrey, who will get an opportunity to bid adieu to the old track during the upcoming race.

Did Dale Earnhardt Jr even try to feature in the race?

In the latest iteration of The Dale Jr. Download, Dale Earnhardt Jr. stated, “I’m so d*mn jealous that you are going to run Fontana this weekend. Because I wanna run there so bad. It’s the last time they’re gonna be able to race at that track and that asphalt is the perfect age.”

Meanwhile, Jeffery Earnhardt reckoned that Dale Jr should have participated in the race.

In response, Dale Jr revealed that he had discussed the matter with his sister Kelley Earnhardt Miller. Despite making a dedicated attempt to be a part of the race, the two-time Busch Series champ could not work things out. He added, “We could not put nothing together. This shows you how tough it is.”
