If you’re a part of any endeavor, any journey, the first people you want on your side to support you is your family. However, things in that regard can get a little tricky sometimes. But there are exceptions, and then there are exceptions to exceptions. Take, for instance, the case of Tyler Reddick and his son supporting Chase Elliott.
It was recently revealed in an interview that Reddick’s 2-year-old son is a big fan of NASCAR’s most popular driver, Chase Elliott. To the point that Reddick’s son refers to Elliott’s No.9 Camaro as “Daddy Chase.”
But there’s an explanation for it.

Alexa De Leon, the wife of Tyler Reddick, had taught their son to look for his father’s No. 8 Camaro on television by reinforcing, “Oh, there’s Daddy’s car! That’s daddy’s car!”
“Beau started saying all the Cup cars are ‘Daddy’s cars’ — whether it was my car, Austin (Dillon’s) car. Those are ‘Daddy’s cars’ — the types of cars that Daddy drives,” Reddick explained.
And then it transitioned into little Beau developing a liking for the No. 9 Chevy in blue and white NAPA paint scheme. “He figured out the driver’s name is Chase and all this stuff,” Reddick said.
“So, he’ll say ‘Daddy Chase!’ He’ll point to a Cup car and try to say, ‘Daddy’s car, Chase.’ But it’s ‘Daddy Chase.’”
Tyler Reddick gets a ‘sour look on his face’ whenever ‘Daddy Chase’ is mentioned
At Alexa De Leon’s suggestion, journalist Jeff Gluck mentioned “Daddy Chase” in front of the Richard Childress Racing driver.
This led to a “sour look on his face” as he dropped the microphone. However, Reddick later admitted the story is “kind of funny.”

“It’s kind of funny, but it does make me mad that his favorite cars are Chase, second one is Kyle Busch, third one is Joey (Logano), and then I think it’s Kevin (Harvick),” he said.
