Kevin Hamlin might be a veteran spotter, but it seems like he has quite the temper! And the most recent example of it is the heated exchanges he had with Alex Bowman, over the radio, at Dover.

At one point during the race, when Alex Bowman decided to take a sarcastic jibe at his teammate Kyle Larson, Hamlin was quick to put him in his place!

Bowman started strong in Dover, keeping his Chevy within the top 10. You can even say he had the fastest car towards the end of the second stage. But just before the stage’s end, Larson managed to fend off his teammate using the infamous aero blocking. Bowman didn’t appreciate Larson being there, and neither appreciate his move. In a feat of frustration, he complained over the radio. He said, “Much appreciated, 5 car.”

Hamlin didn’t appreciate his comment and spewed a reply back by saying, “He’s not going to pull over for you. You’ve got to go f*cking earn it.” But the spotter didn’t stop there and even decided to shell out some advice for the #48. He said, “These dudes aren’t going to give you sh*t all day. You’ve just taken. You’ve done awesome. Drive like a d*ck the rest of the race. Stay locked in. F*ck them all. Let’s go.”

Even Bowman was not one to back down as he replied back, “Kevin, just let me drive the f*cking race car.” While no one likes complaining, sometimes frustrations can get the best of anyone.

This heated exchange between the two does indicate that all might not be well in the team. But only time will tell. This incident of course didn’t escape fans and they were quick to respond.

The internet loves some drama, and when it’s drama on track—it spreads like wildfire. So after Hamlin’s back and forth with the #48 driver, NASCAR fans were quick to show reactions.

One fan took a job at Bowman, indicating how he didn’t act his age.

Another went on a rant, taking a jibe at Bowman’s seemingly lackluster form. Notably, the driver’s last win came in 2022 during the the Pennzoil 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. As for the 2024 season, he’s yet to rake in a Victory Lane visit unlike his other HMS teammates who’ve had at least one win till now.
