Anyone who’s crossed paths with Tony Stewart can vouch for the fact that he’s a hoot to be around. Stewart and Kevin Harvick were like two peas in a pod, always up to some mischief and pulling pranks on each other. But with Harvick now having parked his racing boots for good, Stewart was recently spotted kicking back in what looked like a team bonding shindig.
In this laid-back session, where drivers were quizzing each other, Tony Stewart was clearly in his element, enjoying every bit of it. Yet, there was this fleeting moment of disappointment when his guess didn’t line up with Chase Briscoe’s answer.

In a recent video posted by Stewart-Haas Racing on their YouTube channel, we got to see Tony Stewart and his team of drivers in a light-hearted setting, answering questions about each other. Things kicked off with a fun query about Chase Briscoe’s biggest fear. While teammates Noah Gragson, Josh Berry, and Ryan Preece said, ‘snakes,’ Tony Stewart, in his typical jovial manner, quipped that Briscoe’s greatest fear was ‘coming to the shop to work out.‘ However, Briscoe caught everyone off guard, revealing his actual fear was ‘birds.’
The mood shifted slightly when they tackled a more serious question: Who was Chase Briscoe’s racing idol growing up? Each of the drivers guessed Stewart to be the answer, as they wrote his many nicknames on their boards. Not only that, but Stewart himself playfully guessed, “me and his dad.” However, Briscoe’s answer took everyone by surprise as he named “Jack Hewitt” as his racing idol, a response no one saw coming.
Tony Stewart, never one to miss a beat, responded with his signature sarcasm: “I’d go home, back to the hotel room tonight, and cry myself to sleep,” after learning that he is not Briscoe’s racing idol.
Through it all, the bond within the team shone brightly. In another video, Tony mentioned his trust in his young drivers and confidence in their drive to meet the high expectations of SHR.

With Kevin Harvick hanging up his helmet in 2023, it closed a chapter for Stewart-Haas Racing, leaving behind a year they’d rather not dwell on. Despite Harvick’s valiant efforts, a string of hiccups and subpar cars kept him away from victory.
Yet, amidst the gloom, there was a ray of hope – the team clinched its first Xfinity Series title with Cole Custer at the wheel of the #00. This triumph was a much-needed breath of fresh air, though the Cup Series challenges were etched on Tony Stewart’s face during interviews. Looking forward to 2024, Stewart is buzzing with optimism for his new squad. With Noah Gragson taking the helm of the No. 10 and Josh Berry stepping into Harvick’s formidable shoes, Stewart is all in on his team.
Recently, on SHR’s Twitter, Tony Stewart clearly couldn’t hold back his enthusiasm, in a video, he said, “I think the most bada** thing about our current roster racers is, they are young, they are hungry. They want to make their mark on the sport. All four of these guys – they have passion, they have desire, they have the drive, and they have the skills to get the job done. It’s just a matter of putting in the whole package together for them.”
