Recently, Bubba Wallace unearthed an old photograph of a classic NASCAR race. To be precise, it was a picture of the 1987 Cup Series drivers at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The photo was taken ahead of the ‘Winston’ All-Star Race on May 17 and featured several stars.
Among them were the likes of Dale Earnhardt, Kyle Petty, Terry Labonte, Bobby Hillin Jr, and many more. At least 20 drivers were featured in the photograph and it was an all-round epic photo. Bubba Wallace himself confessed that it was ‘crazy’ to think that anybody will be able to top that iconic image.
Crazy/sad/badass…to think this photo will NEVER be beaten!😂😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/FjW6kqjdlw

That particular race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway would soon be one of the most famous ones. This was because that race witnessed the birth of the infamous ‘Pass in the Grass’ from the legendary Dale Earnhardt. The #3 driver would later go on to win the race because that pass occurred with 8 laps remaining. After that, ‘The Intimidator’ refused to relinquish the race lead.

Bubba Wallace is looking forward to the start of the 2022 season
Coming to the present, the 23XI Racing driver is looking forward to the final test. To be precise, the paddock will head to the Phoenix Raceway for the final pre-season test. Obviously, it will take place before the Busch Clash at the LA Coliseum. Admittedly, the African-American driver is at a disadvantage because he missed the last two tests due to shoulder surgery.
Now, he will try to make the most of this Phoenix test before The Clash. In other words, he has to acclimatize himself to the car very very quickly; otherwise, the other drivers, including his new teammate Kurt Busch, will be miles ahead. Additionally, Bubba Wallace could try to treat the Busch Clash as an extended test session. He can afford to do this because there are no points on offer for this race.
