Rev Racing driver, Nick Sanchez has won the pole position for the SpeedyCash.com 250 Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. Sanchez, driving the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado, clocked the fastest lap (29.219) in the qualifying rounds after the practice run at the 1.5-mile intermediate race track. This will mark a back-to-back pole for the 2022 ARCA champion at the racetrack, as last year he started the race on the front row with the pole advantage.

The Miami native toppled Stewart Friesen at the top of the pole with his lightning-quick lap. He also held off Christian Eckes, who was close to grabbing the pole himself. This will be the first time Sanchez starts a Truck Series race on the pole this season. However, he already has registered his first win in the opener at Daytona International Speedway and is eyeing another with his pole win.

Nick Sanchez will be leading the field later this evening as the green flag drops at the Texas Motor Speedway. Joining him on the front row will be last weekend’s winner, Christian Eckes. The McAnally-Hilgemann Racing driver with a lap time of 29.290 just missed out on toppling Sanchez from the top of the pile.

Moving onto the second row, we have Canadian driver, Stewart Friesen, who looked to be the pole winner until Sanchez and Eckes dominated the qualifying laps. The veteran driver, with his timed lap of 29.341, will start in third. Meanwhile, 2-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch will start in the fourth spot.

Grant Enfinger and Daniel Dye will share the third row for the start of the race. The likes of Layne Rigs, Bayley Currey, and Rajah Caruth completed the top 10 positions during the timed qualifiers. Other notable drivers who missed out on a good starting spot were Ty Majesk, Zane Smith, and Corey Heim, all three drivers will start the race inside the top 15 positions.

The 22-year-old has been associated with Rev Racing, and this marks the second season of him driving with them in the National Series. After showing promising signs in his first season with a #6 ranking in the championship standings, Sanchez wanted to go the extra mile with the turn of a new season. Starting off, he emerged victorious in the season opener at Daytona. He followed it up with another good result, a P5 finish at Atlanta in his next race.

However, short track and road course races proved to be challenging for him to deal with, which resulted in him finishing outside the top 10 positions. He managed a 17th-place finish both at Vegas and Bristol, while he ended up 18th at COTA. Trying to get his season back on track, he made a good comeback at Martinsville last weekend and secured a P4 finish, and with the pole win for today’s event, he will look to string consistent results in his bid for title contention.

Nick Sanchez is currently placed 6th in the driver’s standings after six NASCAR Truck Series races and will look to jump spots after today’s race.
