It is common knowledge that Dale Earnhardt Jr is an avid fan of sim racing. In fact, he even competes under his own name, which has often led to some hilarious situations. Furthermore, Dale Jr is rather fond of iRacing, so it was only fitting that NASCAR paid tribute to the 48-year-old. Normally, the sport hosts its annual eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series championship.
This championship will be renamed in Dale Jr’s honor. The former NASCAR star even shared some exciting news in store for the fans. He wrote on Twitter, “AND… I got to design this years trophy. Im confident that the winner will be extra happy and the losers will be extra sad.”

It is worth mentioning that the former Hendrick Motorsports driver does not pigeonhole himself into racing games. Instead, he likes to branch out into different genres of video games and enjoys all of them.
