The highlight of last year for Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick was their feud which stemmed from a contact at Bristol between the two drivers. The anger between the two drivers escalated to a boiling point soon after and prompted NASCAR to step in between the two arch-enemies. But is their beef over yet?

The question on everyone’s mind this year is if Harvick could possibly serve Elliott the ultimate revenge after his own race was ruined by the Hendrick Motorsports driver a year prior at Bristol.

As far as Bristol was considered for this year, the two did not lock horns. However, Harvick was knocked out of the playoffs due to a bad pit stop that saw his tire fall out.

Last year at the Roval, Harvick had exacted his revenge, or maybe sort of it, after he punted Elliott from the rear and into the wall. But when he was asked if that marked the end of their rivalry, he just decided to walk away, hereby adding fire to the speculation that Kevin’s probably still not done with Elliott.

With the upcoming race at Texas, one might suspect that if Harvick happens to find Elliott on track, would he exact his revenge on the kid from Dawsonville?

There might be a chance that the Stewart-Haas driver might decide to voluntarily punt Elliott’s dreams for a second championship run, out of the door and into the abyss. But knowing Harvick to be in the Twilight era of his career, he could also choose to do otherwise.

NASCAR had to issue a cease-fire between Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick

After the incident between the two drivers at Roval, NASCAR had to officially step in and bring them onto a conference call in order to squash the raging feud.

Hendrick Motorsports owner, Rick Hendrick, later had to ask NASCAR to make sure to put an end to the ever-raging rivalry between the two drivers. However, after the cease-fire was announced, fans did not quite appreciate NASCAR stepping in to calm things down.

They wished to witness more of what the feud could have yielded and argued that a fight like this between championship rivals was something everyone longs to see in a sport like this.

Talking about NASCAR’s intervention on the matter, Chase Elliott’s crew chief, Alan Gustafson stated, “They try to allow the competitors to compete and the competitors to be the ones to determine the outcome of the races and let the competitors take care of it on their own. I think that’s the way it should be, right?”

“The story shouldn’t be NASCAR, it should be about the competitors, racing, and being the best they can be.”
